ANDOVER INVITATION DARTS
Thorny tops 2007 order of Merit
Classic
Ranking Order of Merit
The winner of the 2007 Classic Ranking
Order of Merit is Mark Thorne who beat last year’s
winner Ali MacDonald into second place. The ranking
system was devised for all Andover darters to earn
points in the quest for annual Classic qualification
against Top County and professional opposition each
Easter.
Players can earn points in the summer and
winter leagues for legs won, 180’s and tons tables. In
addition, there are monthly classic ranking events where
players earn points as they progress through the knock
out stages and a chance to share in the £500+ prize
money.
The system is based on points won on a
two year period starting January 2006 and points will be
lost on the second anniversary of the event.
The top 32 players automatically receive
invites for the Classic as do the top 12 non Andover
players from the monthly ranking events. There are a
further 2 Youth and 8 professional invites with 8 places
to be won in knock out qualifiers and 2 committee
wildcards.
