Unicorn Darts Youth Academy
A
new wave of youngsters is making their mark at the
Academy as host of senior players have who have
established themselves in senior leagues near the end of
their era. In the juniors, the likes of Kelly Paine,
Elle May, Ryan Morgans, Rob Jones and Regan Bestford are
making excellent recent progress and look set to attain
the standard set by their more experienced colleagues.
The story is very much the same in the senior ladies
with Mel Oakley, Terri Newman and Danielle Hopper
showing great attitude and potential and although
limited in numbers the future of ladies darts in Andover
is very bright indeed. The senior lads epitomise the
trend as they seek to emulate their peers.

Invitation Winter League
Final :( 22)
Wolves, as expected gained enough points to claim a
second successive title but it was the young Wyke Down
side that finished strongest of the three chasing teams
to claim runners up spot. Merlin Mercenaries finished
third but will be rueing the 14 points deducted earlier
in the season.

Super League Reports
Both leagues recently ended with many positives coming
out of the three teams overall performances. In the
toughest league of all, the Hampshire County Super
League, the town side finished a very creditable fifth.
Jeff White captain and top ranked Andover player gives a
satisfactory end of term report especially considering
the many youngsters given a regular outing and the late
withdrawal of key players on the night.
The smaller North Hants super league proved another good
grooming arena for the town’s youngsters. Although the
original ‘B’ squad was decimated early on, finishing
third was a reward for the team’s efforts. The ‘A’
however had a more stable side and were unlucky to miss
out on the league title by just one point to
Basingstoke. Ivor Andrew’s side did however prove
winners by taking the Team K.O. and Pairs’ through Sean
White and Arron Monk as they continue to grow in
stature.
